Now a question arise that drugs are really bad for the business or not? I am just going to present some key factors that shows how much bad it is. As we can see 77% of illegal drug users hold either full-time or part-time jobs, so American business are losing billions of dollars, millions of workdays for employee drug abuse every year. And also a large number of workers stated a co-workers drug/alcohol use affected their job performance. So in every situation business is getting loses from the effect of drugs and it can’t be good for any workplaces.
Now the benefits of successful tackling drug misuse are many. Like if the business can track it they can reducing the cost of absenteeism or impaired productivity. They can also decrease the risk of accidents because everyone will be attentive at their work. Also the public will have a good perception about the organisations working environment as well as many employees will fill motivated to work in such good environments.
I also like to mention some key factors. According to a survey we found that after starting drug test in workplaces 19% of the organizations employee productivity increased. And also absenteeism rates decreased from 9% to 4% after a drug test programme implementation.
So basically every workplace is getting benefits because of random drug testing.
But there are 3 key factors that everyone has to follow for the drug tests. Those are –
