Solectron Corp. is a United States of America company established in 1977 where it is a well-known contract manufacturer company in electronic industry across the globe. The company provides the manufacturing services and also become the key supplier to other major electronic equipment manufacturers such as IBM, Toshiba, Hewlett-Packard, Apple Inc. and also other companies. The company also has its facilities in Malaysia where it was established in Penang under the name of Solectron (M) Sdn. Bhd. in the year of 1991. Its facilities in Penang were chosen as the pioneer site for the company to increase its operations in future Asian sites where it will be increasing rapidly in the future. As the operations increasing year-in and year-out, there will be a state where vacant place in the company that has to be fills in. This where my role as the Human Resource Manager at Solectron (M) Sdn. Bhd. need to do the planning for the new hiring of employee. As to date, there is a vacancy for Process Engineer and this vacant job has to be filled within 2 months. Therefore, I am responsible for the recruitment and selection process for hiring new employee to make sure the company achieving full employment.

Solectron (M) Sdn. Bhd. is a big and more mature company in Malaysia’s electronic industry which had been running its operations since year of 1991, its existence is already getting known and noticed by the people in Malaysia especially the public in Penang. As the time gets passing by, the operations of the company will keep expanding either in a small or big scale. While this happen, the employees in the company that available to work on the respective task are not enough.
