Introduction
“Riordan Manufacturing is a global plastics manufacturer employing 550 people with projected annual earnings of $46 million. The company is wholly owned by Riordan Industries, a Fortune 1000 enterprise with revenues in excess of $1 billion. The company's HRIS system was installed in 1992. It is a part of the financial systems package and keeps track of the following employee information: Personal Information, Pay Rate, Personal Exemptions for Tax Purposes, Hire Date, Seniority Date, Organization Information, and Vacation Hours” (Human Resource Information System, 2012).
Hugh McCauley, COO has requested the analysis of the current Human Resources System. The analyzing of the human resources system should include the current tools in use today into one combined application. To begin the project we need to review the information-gathering techniques, design methods, explain the scope and feasibility of the project. The above would help guarantee an excellent human resources system for Riordan Manufacturing.

Information-gathering technique plays an important part in helping in updating the Riordan Manufacturing Human Resources System. First, one should take into consideration when gathering information what the company wants the system to do. Second, one should gather information about the current Human Resources System. Last, a very important step is when gathering information one must be positive that the sources are valid.
