It’s finally here I am a senior at Greene County High School. I was excited that I made it. Then the final day came, the day I actually received my diploma. Every since my freshmen year of high school, I can remember parents, teachers and counselors continually drilling these questions into our minds of me, my friends and about every other teenage across the country. What are you interested in? What jobs will be available when you graduate? When these questions came up, I never responded because I didn’t know but the day I received my diploma I realize that this is where my future begins. I then made the decision to attend college. I started applying to different schools. I got accepted to many schools but only one that I thought was the best for me. My name is Alethia Hill. I am the last child but I am the first child and grandchild to receive my diploma and attend college. I fell good knowing that I am the only one to go further with my education. I will be attending Middle Georgia College in the fall of 2008. College is very expensive. There are grants and other scholarships out there to apply for but I didn’t meet the requirements. FASA is very helpful but it only gives you so much. I will be majoring in Biology. I love science and pretty determined to find cures for many diseases that are constantly coming into the world. College will be a big experience for me. My family won’t be living with me so I will be able to learn responsibility and independence. I will have to make reasonable decisions. I will meet new people.
