In the article “Baser Instincts”, it does not focus completely on pornography but other deplorable behaviors as well. Although, it relates to some good points that mentioned in the chapter 6. Pornography industry such as pornographic websites, magazines, and videos make an estimated profit of ten billion dollars a year while according to “Baser Instincts”, pornography is number one immoral behavior and very popular in U.S. Perhaps, men are less shy than women about admitting it like 14% would open up and confess that they look at pornography or go see strippers regularly. Yet 30% say they do so on occasion. The book states that when watching pornography, a woman’s image appears in a man’s mind that influences him to want more of this pleasure. By contrast, it degrades women’s reputation; they are being called as sluts or whores around other people and become more as sexual objects for men. However, no matter how controversial, pornography is still going to happen in our society and fulfilling the sexual pleasure of others.
“Fear of Falling: Sluts” is another article about sexuality issue among young teens in our country. It tells how teens are encountered with sexual desires at an early age and forced to have sex as well. The article focuses on a group of young girls who are being pressure to experience in sexual activities without wanting to consider as sluts. They wanted to do it, but they feel dirty and continually fighting over body’s inner feelings. Their body just automatically says yes and their mind are thinking no. In fact, males have sex with multiple partners are acceptable while females are called “slut” easily. Also, young teens are already sexually active before they learn the negative effects which are STDs, AIDS and unplanned pregnancy. Furthermore, lacking of sex education classes is the primary problem in school system. It causes teens attitudes toward sexual activities differently...
