Sexuality and Development

The LGBT community is made of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender individuals. The member that was interviewed for this paper is gay. He is very self-aware of himself and his feelings about the community and being gay. He is currently engaged to get married and was excited about the legalization of marriage, not just because he can now marry the love of his life but for very surprising reasons. He does not want to stand out in the crowd for being gay he wants just to be seen as any other individual. Many thank yous to the young Man, who opened up about his life for this paper.
Julian Ceballos is a 24 years old and is part of the LGBT community and has been openly gay for the last four years. He stated that he feels like he has just only recently found self-identity and who he was. From a very young age he knew that he was different from his other five brothers, he just didn't know how until about the age of 11. He realized that he found himself attracted to the opposite sex. This scared him, and he knew that he could not come our to his family anytime soon. The Ceballos family came from a background of what some would call a gangster background. Juliann’s parents and brothers were extremely vocal about their opinions on homosexuality. So until the age of 21 Julian kept his secret to himself. One day he decided that enough was enough, and it was time to come out to his family and just deal with consequences that came after. He sat his family down and explained who he was. There were tears shed and some anger from their parents. A few months later Julian got sick and was in the hospital for close to three months. He had been diagnosed with HIV, and the family was devastated. Through time, they all found a way to live with him and support him. He now lives at home with his boyfriend and his family. He fits perfect in his family and is now truly happy with who he is. He understands that he is sick, but he knows how to manage everything he does. He is just...
