Everyone has a favorite song and a song that they hate. I have always a fan of rap/hip-hop music, but rappers nowadays are just too much to handle. By saying too much to handle, I mean their music should not be considered as rap music. Lifestyle by Rich Gang is one the song that I cannot stand hearing it. I do not just randomly hate it. I do not like it because of the lyrics, the way he raps, and the clothing he wore in his music video.
Rich Gang started out from the bottom just like other rappers, but I wondered how he made it to the mainstream rap community. As I stated before, Lifestyle by Rich Gang should not be considered as rap music because you can hardly understand to what he was rapping about for almost the entire song. To be honest, the first time that I listen to this song, I can understand exactly one word which is “lifestyle”, and it’s at the end of every sentences in the song. For example, he rapped, “I've done did a lot of sh** just to live this here lifestyle. We came straight from the bottom to the top, my lifestyle.” The repetitive of the word “lifestyle” is really helped me there. His voice during the song sounds like a whining baby sound. It makes it even harder to listen. The only way that I can really understand the whole song is by looking up on “Google” for lyrics. If that is the case, then why would people listen to his music if they cannot even understand anything?
His style of rapping which makes listeners even stressed out more leads me to the next questions. Why is he famous? And why do people listen to it? Am I missing something cool in his song or Am I getting too old to understand the greatness of it? It seems like you do not really have to rap anymore; you can just say the words with “swag”, and it automatically turns into a hit. If you look up the lyrics of “Lifestyle”, you will see that it’s really basic and simple. For example, he rapped, “Rich Homie, Thugga Thugga in this ***, Rich Homie, Thugga Thugga in this ***, Rich...
