ehgrerhn Digital technology has become the craze of today’s America and absorbed many of the desires of its citizens. Although there are too many technological advances to discuss in 500 words, the most commonly used in my life and many American’s lives are the culminant computer and the precocious cell phone. The computer has come to consume most of the average American’s time. Whether it is at work, school, the library, or one’s house, this technological device has become a necessity for a person that wants to live in today’s world. For instance, when I was little, in 1996, my mom went back to college to take computer classes because it worried her that I could use the computer better than she could at the age of five. My dad, who didn’t even know how to turn one on, has recently become an avid user of the computer as of last year. This goes to show just how much digital technology has developed and slowly become part of American’s identity. The computer has developed from a bulky set of a modem, monitor, and millions of cords to a very small, combined into one piece, modem & monitor, as well as a couple of cords. As if that would not suffice technological hungry Americans, there are touch screen computers with cordless keyboards and mice, 0.1 inch laptops, and computers with microphones and cameras nowadays. Although it is an item of choice, the internet has come to dominate the knowledge in today’s society also. Even though it has been considered demeaning to society because of porn availability and identity theft, the internet services available to Americans provide a quick and easy alternative to books and newspapers, as well as broadens communication sources. The online dictionaries and newspapers and magazines, facebook, email, blogs, dating networks, and search engines are just a few widely supported advantages of the internet itself.
