HOW TO USE EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT AND ACHIEVE GOALS
1.1
IMPORTANCE OF EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT
We all have the same amount of time in life, and time is limited. So by using time effectively you can reach your targets and goals in your professional and personal life.
Prioritising your task in your work time allows you to achieve more. There is a video clip on You Tube called the seven big stones (Stephen Covey 2015) in this time is represented by a beaker, tasks are represented by sand which are classed as un important and non urgent. Pebbles are represented of things that are important but does not need doing straight away. The large stones represent urgent task that need to done immediately. If you do the non important ones first and leaving the more important ones last you will never fill your beaker. BUT if you do the important tasks first i.e. big stones the rest of the pebbles and sand they fit in, this symbolises the importance of prioritising by prioritising you will achieve more in the time you have.
By delegating tasks you can create an efficiency in your work place letting you achieve more important tasks because it is foolish to over burden yourself and do all tasks yourself when others can do it this also it give others a chance to aid in the effective time management of the team you are in. Each morning we get with 86,400 seconds to use this is our time, whatever we don’t use is taken back each evening. If you manage your time properly you are all together happier and the happier you are at work the more work you do so that's a WIN WIN
