The use of technology especially the internet has been increasing. For illustrate, in 1992 there were one million internet users in Turkey; however, in 2007 this number has increased eleven times (Mestçi, Aytaç; 2007). So, technology encircles all individual’s life: internet contain many gadget such as calculators, dictionaries, thesaurus, search engines, encyclopedias, etc., which make life easier, many schools adapt information system and they can store their student information in an electronic database, plentiful people follow the current issue on the internet, chat with overseas even they can attend a universities. As can be seen, technology is all around the daily life and it simplifies and qualifies people’s life. Thus, it is obvious fact that technology affects people’s life positively and these effects on education and society can be observe so easily.

Internet is the largest source of information today and if students and teachers use it effectively, technology may help both children to absorb information and teacher to educate and guide their students. First of all, huge amount of information about all subjects are accessible and students can get help from the internet, they can watch the lecture which they missed, they can find extra data about the next lesson, make practice and find more examples. Students cope with complex problems by their own. Moreover, internet-base homework systems can give feedback to students instantaneously and they can see their wrong answers and learn the correct ones. Therefore, they develop a learning strategy and they become an independent, life-time learners and self-starters. Benson asserts (2003), “Researchers generally agree that the most important abilities are those that allow learners to plan their own learning activities, monitor their progress and evaluate their outcomes.” (page 290).
