Brutus’s speech and Antony’s speech

Brutus and the others came to Julius Caesar’s home and told him that his will be crowned ahead of time. Caesar trusted them, because Brutus was one of them who came and gave him this news. So Caesar went to the Senate. When Caesar arrived the Senate, Metellus found him and kneeled down to ask Caesar to request Publius Cimber, who has been banished from Rome, be granted permission to return. Others also did so, but Caesar refused them all. Finally Caesar was killed by them.
People in the country had soon known the death of Julius Caesar and also Antony, who was the great follower of Caesar, had learned of Caesar’s death. He came to Brutus and asked Brutus if he could give a little speech about his sadness to those people in the country and Brutus agreed.
A crowd of plebeians came and asked Brutus and Cassius for the reason why they killed Caesar and Brutus began his speech. The first thing that Brutus did is telling people that they may trust in his honor. He said he killed Caesar was not because he disliked Caesar. Brutus claimed that he loved the man very much, but he loves the whole Rome more than that single person. Brutus acknowledged that Caesar was a great man but also mentioned that Caesar was too ambitious and no one there disagreed with what he said.
As the speech of Brutus ended, Antony came with Caesar’s dead body and also with his lecture. When people were still discussing about what they had just heard, Antony walked to the pulpit. He told people to surround him before he started his speaking and he began his speech with the position that he came to bury Caesar. Antony acknowledged about what Brutus said that Caesar was too ambitious and emphasized that Brutus is an honorable man, but he illustrated things that Caesar had done which were so important to Rome.
