Huffman Trucking was founded in 1936 with a single tractor-trailer. Through the years, the fleet increased in size due mainly to a newly formed alliance with the U.S. Government. As the company continues to expand with the new acquisition of five Eastern regional carriers, it is necessary to develop a logical database to hold fleet maintenance information. Smith Systems Consulting has developed entities and attributes for Fleet Truck Maintenance, however they failed to develop the database. In an effort to better document the database application, the company is in need of Entity-Relationship diagrams, which will be produced by Team C in the coming weeks.
A request has been presented to Team C Consultants to develop entities and attributes for Fleet Truck Maintenance. Huffman Trucking has required the services of Team C to create a database that provides information tracking scheduled maintenance for their fleet. The database should contain tables, queries and forms that can be compiled through maintenance records. Inventory of parts from vendors will be included in the database. Huffman has four facilities located in the U.S. Cleveland Ohio, Los Angeles California, St. Louis Missouri and Bayonne New Jersey. To better document the applications, Entity-Relationship Diagrams are needed.
Entities and Attributes

The purpose to using entities and attributes in a database is to give management and maintenance supervisors the ability to easily produce reports via built-in tables with real-time accuracy. The database is needed in order to have strict oversight of the Huffman Trucking inventory which includes 800 road tractors, 260 "roll-on/roll-off" units, and 2,100 45 foot trailers.
