In the Wamayo River Bain, the salmon is decreasing and the federal authorities have charged the Wamayo Basin Management and the Conservation Department (WBNC) with finding the solution needed that will help to minimize the conflict among the several of the other industries in the area. Through the Wamayo Simulation (UOP, 2011), three dams have been built using the hydropower projects, which has helped to supply the farmers with irrigation water for his or her farms.
For the Wamayo River Basin Management to employ an alternative dispute resolution (ADR), this will have results that will help to minimize the litigation costs and will help to maximize the WBNC objectives for saving the salmon population as well as finding the needed solution that will work well with the stakeholders involved
Potential Non-Organizational Conflict Identifications
The stakeholders involved are the Salmon Survival Group, the Wamayo Department of Energy, the Northwest Timber and Paper Association, and the Wamayo Farmers Association. With the stakeholders, there is conflict in the building of the dams and each organization believes that the reason for the building of the dams is more important than the other organizations.
Conflicts will happen and cannot be pushed off and for each stakeholder, conflicts are arising. For the farmers, they believe that the dam was built to help to improve their water resources they need for their farms. Now for the Wamayo Department of Energy, their main concern is to change their current polluting energy over to a nonpolluting energy, therefore the changes will help to better the environment. Each of the four stakeholders have their own agenda in which they want to work toward a goal on the changes being made, if each stakeholder is not able to reach the goals set, there is a possibility of legal actions...
