Different recruiting methods
Lead companies – For a fee you can get a list of qualified leads that are custom tailored to your business. These leads can then be followed up on using email or telephone methods.
Word of Mouth – Probably the most often overlooked method but many times is the most reliable. People who like your product may show an interest in selling it. Don’t forget this great way to recruit people to the business. Include a brochure with all customer orders.
Online Ads and Banners – Online advertising is big business. Determine where the most people who may have an interest in your company would see your ads. Check Google and other sites for keywords and look at those sites for possible advertising.
Professional Recruiters are available to find commissioned salespeople who are interested in your business. Although this can be expensive, the quality of the leads is generally quite high. These individuals are pre-screened.
Advertising – Place ads through local newspapers, national newspapers or specialty magazines. In addition, take out online ads on employment sites such as monster.com. This will greatly increase your leads but will also attract many people who are unlikely to follow through. This method will generate tons of leads but will take lots of time to manage.
Cold Calling or Warm Calling - Phoning people is a good way of recruiting only if you have received their name from a pre-qualified list. Unsolicited calling is now illegal in many areas so be sure to find out before starting.
Email – Email is a common way to send information out to the masses. Lately, however, spam is becoming more prevalent and most ISPs now screen for it. If you email from a list that is not pre-qualified it will likely not reach many people.
