Why College Why Now

I have been seeking a college degree since I left high school in 2002. It has been a long road for me since there were some obstacles and challenges that hindered me from finishing college in a timely manner. When I first entered college I wasn’t really ready, therefore I skipped classes here and there and eventually stopped going all together; a part of me wished that I would have taken a small break after high school before starting college since I barely passed my senior year of school. I was just not ready to start going back to school again, but I did to please my parents, that’s the first and biggest mistake I have made since I first started college.
When I first entered college at Delaware Tech, I was a nursing student. Deep down inside I really did not want to be a nurse; my mom who is a nurse wanted me to follow in her footsteps and be like her. Of course I wanted to make her happy so I entered nursing and school and failed miserably. After that I stopped going to school, so my parents decided to send me to Job Corps. There, I got my CNA license, and worked in VA as a CNA for a few years; I didn’t like that too much either! After this I took a long break from school and just focused on working, I continued to work as a nursing assistant until I decided I had enough of doing something that I did not enjoy doing.
In 2010 I had my first child, when she turned 3 months old I decided to go back to school, this time I majored in respiratory care. I still wanted to be in the medical field, I just didn’t want to do the gruesome stuff! The second half of the semester I became pregnant again with my second daughter, this pregnancy landed me on complete bed-rest, so I had to stop going to school. A few years down the road my now three year old started to have some developmental problems and started having severe seizures. She was diagnosed with epilepsy and autism, and she has motivated me to become a teacher. I do plan on perusing my Masters in Special...
