There comes a time in life when we have to work in a group with others. That group could be for school, work, or just social life. At first we are unsure about how things will be within the group but we hope that everything will be fine nut that is not always the case. We have to be mindful that everyone is different so therefore there will be different personalities and ideas and we must respect them. Everyone will not see eye to eye but we must compromise and be open to everyone’s ideas and opinions.
I have been in various groups but I have been in more groups on the academic side. Being in a group in school can be quite challenging because there have been some group members that did not want to participate and would rather the other group members do all of the work and they get a grade for something they did not do. One particular group that I can recall being in was in an online classroom setting. At the beginning of week one the group consisted of five team members total but only two others including myself were the only ones that responded to the group’s announcements. This was socking because we had established that everyone would take turns in being the group leader over the course of five weeks.
The first week went great. The remaining three members were on board and knew what was required and expected out of everyone. Despite the disappointment we all agreed that we would make the best out of the situation and get things done. At that point everyone wanted to do what was needed to make the good grades and be successful.
Week two started off great. On the first day of the new week the team leader was chosen and the leader assigned everyone their part of the group assignment.
