The Sunny Beach Day
A descriptive essay based on something or somewhere that we have memories of could be a tough one! I have a few places that I could think of.
It makes me think of the good old days at North Beach down around Hampton, NH. My family has had a beach house there since my mom was a young girl.
On one of the many hot summer days, being spent at the beach. You would go out to the beach to enjoy the water, the sun, the activities that are happening, or just to be with family and friends.
When you're at the beach, there are some very distinct smells. You can smell the salt from the water along with the heat from the sand. It also never fails that I burn my feet every time I make my first plunge into the soft bliss.
My most favorite smell of all is the sweet coconut smell of sun tanning lotion that people put on themselves while they lay into the sun to basically "cook the day away."
If you're looking for a quiet day of relaxation at the beach, I don't think that will work out too well. The beach is always really loud throughout the day. You can hear the loud motors of the Jet Ski’s and the waves of the water as they come crashing through to shore. You'll definitely be able to hear the roaring of laughter and the excitement of the kids of all ages as they splash around, play games, and build sandcastles.
While you're at the beach, you can always get involved in some fun activities, like me I pull out my beach blanket which is as big as a house. Moreover, a good book that I can never really read, it’s just a good excuse for a nap.
If you can’t relax in the warm sun and sand, you could go crabbing. If you like touching the slimy rocks of the ocean and the soft touch of the cold water. Finding your first crab of the season is like an athlete getting the gold metal for the first time. However, be careful, if and when it pinches you, it is going to sting for a minute or too.
