Job Analysis

With the merging of InterClean and Envirotech it has created a need for a new Salesperson position. The company will be providing full-service cleaning solutions for organizations in the healthcare industry besides selling cleaning solutions. The job analysis will serve as a way for the company to find someone that will fit into the company. It will also help the company plan for the training, transfer, or promotion plans within the organization. The sales team will consist of a Vice President of Sales, a Sales Manager and three Outside Sales Representatives.
The method that I feel appropriate are the observation and the interview methods because with the observation the company can observe how the employee works and how long it takes him or her to perform the task and if they understand what the job consists of doing. Advantage- Also it can provide a deeper understanding of job requirements than workers descriptions of what they do. Disadvantage- If the work in question is primarily mental; observations alone may reveal little useful information. With the interview method the company gets to see what skills, abilities, talents, interest, values, experiences and accomplishment that the employee has to perform the job that is required. Advantage- Can provide information about standard as well as nonstandard and mental work. Disadvantage- Workers may be suspicious of their interviewers and their motives; interviewers may ask ambiguous questions.
