Why Pursue an MBA Degree?
Before I decided to pursue my Masters of Business Administration with University of Phoenix, I analyzed the jobs and opportunities I could obtain if I graduated with a masters degree. Working in corporate America made this decision reality really fast. My goals in life are to become recognizably successful and make lots of money to help support my family and live comfortably. Receiving my MBA would be a tool to achieve these goals. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in Finance, I quickly realized that I would not be able to achieve these goals and climb the ladder of success without advancing my education. I also realized that a piece of paper that shows my achievements does not simply give an employer notification that I can do what the job requires of me. For this reason, I chose to attend the University of Phoenix to get my MBA. Through researching the university, I realized that they focused more on gaining experience through team projects and hands-on learning than the traditional classroom environment most universities adhere. The University of Phoenix also made my decision a little easier by gearing the coursework for individuals who have a full time job like me.
In this growing economy, I would like every opportunity to advance in my career choice and obtain higher pay, higher knowledge, gain business credentials, and gain management skills. Employers are also looking for employees who have leadership, oral and written, analytical and strategic skills. This can only be achieved by entering an MBA program and using the skills given to you by professors who understand the working environment and how it works. I also believe an MBA is the foundation to many types of jobs.
