Children change every day. They grow, mature, learn and become independent. When a child learns the parent finds it hard to understand they are getting older. A baby learns to crawl, feed itself and walk. Before you know it they are potty trained then off to school. There are steps a child goes through on this road to growing up. They go through the cognitive process, and the sensorimotor stage. Children go through different stages in learning as well. Some children find it easier to learn certain things than other. I saw firsthand how some children do better than others and how just a few months in age can make a difference.
